Wednesday, September 2, the first day of the official program of the 27th Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) International Wine Competition was marked by the arrival of expert wine tasters. During the day, 250 tasters from 46 countries arrived in Brno to evaluate 8,500 competing wines from all over the world between Friday and Sunday.
The seminar “Presentation on Czech Viticulture” was delivered to them at the beginning of the event by JUDr. Luboš Bárta, a well-known Czech sommelier and editor-in-chief of the wine magazine SOMMELIER. The seminar was attended by more than 100 experienced professionals. They tasted the wines from the current collection of the Wine Salon of the Czech Republic.
This was followed by an opening dinner with live music and tasting of Moravian and Czech wines. On Thursday, the judges will visit the individual wine-growing sub-regions with an extensive programme that will introduce them to winemaking in South Moravia.
